Common questions

Can I use the exported PDF as evidence of my CPD compliance if I am ever audited?

Yes — absolutely! DispenseCPD makes it easy to meet the Board's CPD recording requirements as outlined on their website, including your Group breakdown, activity details, and development plan. That said, meeting your CPD obligations is ultimately your responsibility as a registered pharmacist, and we'd encourage you to review the Board's current requirements each CPD year to make sure you're on track.

How is DispenseCPD different from CPD tools bundled with pharmacy association memberships?

Most pharmacy association memberships bundle a CPD tool into a $600+ per year package. DispenseCPD gives you everything you need — activity logging, development planning, and PDF export — for just $19/year. No conferences, magazines, or events you never attend. Just the CPD tool, at a fraction of the cost.

How does the free plan work?

Sign up instantly — no credit card required. The free plan lets you log up to 3 CPD activities and create 1 CPD development plan. It's a genuine trial of the full experience, not a limited demo. When you're ready, upgrade to Pro for $19/year (introductory offer until 30 Jun 2026) to unlock unlimited logging, PDF export, and multi-year records.

What happens to my data if I don't renew?

Your data stays safely stored in your account and won't be deleted. If you choose not to renew, you'll revert to the free plan — but PDF export requires an active subscription. If you're ever audited after your subscription lapses, you'll need to renew first before you can export. We recommend exporting your record before it lapses so you always have a copy on hand.

Do I need to be a member of PSA, AdPha, or any other pharmacy association?

No. DispenseCPD is completely independent. You don't need to be a member of any pharmacy organisation to sign up or use the app. It was built specifically for pharmacists who want a simple, affordable CPD tool without a $600+ membership fee.

Is the cost tax deductible?

For most Australian health professionals, the cost of maintaining professional registration — including tools that help you meet CPD requirements — is tax deductible as a work-related expense. As pharmacists are legally required to complete CPD to maintain registration, DispenseCPD would generally fall into this category. Tax outcomes depend on your individual circumstances. Always consult your accountant, tax adviser or the ATO for personalised advice.

Is there an app I can download from the App Store?

DispenseCPD is a web-based app, which means it runs directly in your browser — no App Store or Play Store download required. It functions identically to a native app: your data syncs across devices, it works offline, and you can install it to your home screen for one-tap access.

On iPhone, tap the Share button in Safari and select "Add to Home Screen".
On Android, tap the menu in Chrome and select "Add to Home Screen". Once added, it opens full-screen just like any other app.

Can I log activities if I don't have an internet connection?

Yes! If you're offline, your activity is saved locally on your device straight away — nothing is lost. As soon as your device reconnects to the internet, the app will automatically sync your data to the cloud in the background. You won't need to do anything.

Is my CPD data private and secure?

Yes. Your data is stored securely and is only visible to you. DispenseCPD uses industry-standard encryption and Firebase cloud infrastructure. We do not share your data with any third parties, pharmacy boards, or regulators.

How many CPD credits do Australian pharmacists need?

Australian pharmacists must complete 40 CPD credits per CPD year (1 October to 30 September). Group 1 activities are capped at a maximum of 20 credits, so at least 20 must come from Group 2 or Group 3. These requirements are set by the Pharmacy Board of Australia and apply to all registered pharmacists regardless of hours worked.

What is the difference between Group 1, 2 and 3 CPD?

The Pharmacy Board of Australia classifies CPD activities into three groups:

Group 1: Information accessed without assessment.
Group 2: Knowledge or skills improved with assessment.
Group 3: Quality or practice-improvement facilitated.

At least 20 of your 40 annual credits must come from Group 2 or Group 3 combined. DispenseCPD tracks this automatically on your dashboard.
